Barely a month after the launch of Visit Malaysia Year, erosion has marred the famous beach at Batu Ferringhi. Erosion along the beach was common but had become more serious because of reclamation works, both legal and illegal, in nearby Tanjung Bungah.
Compounding the problem is a patch of black water, about the size of a football field, near the spot of the erosion in the tourist belt.
