The United Nations, under its environmental programe and agency UNEP, has just released a report about sand mining, entitled: “Sand, rarer than one thinks”.
Sand Wars film documentary, directed by Denis Delestrac, expressly inspired the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to publish this Global Environmental Alert:
“*The idea for this publication came from the film documentary “Le Sable: enquête sur une disparition,” directed by Denis Delestrac and broadcast on Arte channel on May 28, 2013.”—UNEP
Sand Wars film premiered in Paris, in its french version: “Le Sable: enquête sur une disparition,” and was broadcasted on the european Arte Channel, May 28th, 2013, where it became the highest rated documentary for 2013.
Sand Wars is now distributed worldwide by PBS International.
