Excerpt:
Maya Lilly had achieved the theater dream: studying at Juilliard. But when her environmental passion didn’t find a home there, it set her on a mission to bring climate storytelling to Hollywood.

“I had worked on all these projects with activists, but I still hadn’t worked on climate or the environment. And at that point I had done all my training in that. I did my undergraduate degree in that, I did my graduate degree in that. It was my passion. It was the reason I’d left Juilliard. It was everything to me. And Hollywood just was not interested.” – Maya Lilly

Grist’s Temperature Check podcast features first-person stories of crucial pivot points on the path to climate action.
